You cant reach me here

It started as a whisper...


A hint of warmth amidst the somber dirge of the rain. The stained earth fell forgotten as his gaze rose to greet a long lost, but never forgotten comfort.

The gentle touch of the mists encircled him. Drowning the pains of war beneath its gossamer curtains, and silencing the sorrowful rains that mourned from embers above.

The swelling in his heart cried out for his dear one, as the screams of the battle again resumed.

In this moment he felt her touch beside him... and whispered, 'you cannot reach me here....'
